Do you think we are going to see the US dollar replaced by a new global currency? If so, what and when?

In our lifetimes we will see the dollar lose relevance. I think De-dollarization is coming. Regardless, the relevance lost can look many ways. I’ll be more accurate after the coming debt crisis.

If it happens it will take a generation. Right now it’s fairly entrenched in international trade. And like Churchill said of democracy (paraphrasing): It’s the worst system except better than those that came before it.

Yes, because every reserve currency is eventually replaced. When? That'll take time and it will very likely be gradual. By what? More complicated. It's quite possible that we'll go from globalization to regionalization. Regional reserve currencies would just be a natural extension.
