When a Builder has a PR against a repo for the first time in @scoutgamexyz we give them a 100 point bonus. The idea is to encourage people to checkout and contribute to new repos and have impact across the ecosystem. However it’s possible to have many trivial PRs, such as typo fixes across many repos and while they are helpful and merged they are pretty low value. They also imbalance Scout Game. What should we do? Ideas: 1. limit the new repo bonus to once per week 2. limit the new repo bonus to 3x per week 3. reduce the bonus, maybe cascading per new repo 1) 50, 2) 30, 3) 20, etc 4. Other ideas?

Perhaps the ability to categorize / tag issues (and thus the PR's associated) with some kind of points or bonus would provide a more accurate representation of the impact that the PR has. That way the bonus points could still be high but they would guarantee a meaningful contribution to the repo. Maybe the above combined with number 1 (new repo bonus once per week) could be interesting.

Is there a way to value contributions?

I would remove low value contributions (if the goal is to scout good builders) most people doing typo fixes are just farming airdrops and not even developers

It seems like that’s happening this week. I think it’s right to impose limits on the new repo bonus, like options 1 and 2.

Don’t overcomplicate it according a potential problem. If issues are getting completed value is added. When the small ones go away we will have made progress
