Moving to LATAM has been one of the most transformational experiences in my life. Especially to a developing nation. Maybe second to becoming a father.  

My perspective is so much wider. I see actual struggle. I understand the power and privilege of Capitalism and the United States. 

My views and opinions are unrecognizable from that NY kid.

hmm in abstract maybe but in my specific case I think its the opposite as I realize unchained capitalism is the best way to solve most of the world's problems. 

But if you think of compassion, like the Hondurans do, where everyone gets paid 15 months out of the year, that most definitely hinders economic growth for everyone in their society. Fewer business can afford to even get off the ground, wages are suppressed, someone's compassionate idea was a terrible one.
