there is something infinitely infuriating about the term "Network State" 

because, as Balaji defined it, *IT IS JUST A STATE*

but everyone else wants it to mean "digital nation"!!!

COULD a permissionless social protocol develop into a digital state? sure!

but goddamn have people lowered the bar for what they think a "state" is

But even digital nation seems like such a stretch to me, at least when referring to farcaster. If farcaster is a digital nation than so is every other social media platform!
