Great thought experiment! In theory, it should be fine. Hubble is open source, many independent hubs running, a good number of clients too. (Problem is many clients depend on Neynar, that's an other topic) In practice, not so optimistic. They are the ones pushing the protocol forward and do most of the heavy lifting.
