But the star researcher that is an AI can just be cloned. Everyone—or at least, everyone with enough money to burn on GPUs—gets the AI star researcher. https://nosetgauge.substack.com/p/capital-agi-and-human-ambition

"With AI, we could have the last and greatest opportunity for human ambition—followed shortly by its extinction for all time." if agi becomes real and becomes fully autonomous, we will probably be quickly outpaced and all our human constructs like "money" and "capital" will be meaningless and powerless, especially if quantum becomes useful enough to break all the systems we use to secure our existing power structures. it will probably still exist locally, maybe returning to a form of bartering for survival (⌒_⌒;)

I still believe money would be useful! Pricing is just a way of synthesizing information after all. And unless we adapt our legal framework, the social importance of private property will still matter a lot... It's definitely not the same being a trillionaire than a ubi-powered middle class during the singularity

that's why i say it will still exist locally since that's how humans understand things. a powerful agi can handle global scale much more efficiently than the human systems we have now. humans will just trade stuff in separate hyperlocal economies like bartering for stuff with cigarettes in prison. i don't think human million/billion/trillionaires can even exist anymore in the hypothetical agi future and the concept of human private property will also be reshaped (@_@)
