I think Trumpists are setting the stage for the 26 NAFTA negotiations, while signalling the US out of the WTO no-tariff world it itself created in the 90s. Essentially an anti-Clinton backlash.

It seems clear to me that one faction of Capital is seeing this moment as an opportunity to crash the economy, and then take advantage of the uncertain multipolar moment to force a kind of re-nationalization of production under their control
