Introduction to Vinyl | How to distinguish the authenticity of vinyl 01 Practical knowledge!
In the previous issues, we introduced some little-known facts about vinyl records, and many vinyl friends also raised some interesting questions. So today, let’s talk about my personal method of distinguishing the authenticity of vinyl records.
Check the surface of the record
Normal vinyl records basically use light to shine obliquely, and you can see the marks on the record. Second-hand records basically have some tiny scratches, some of which will not affect the playback, because sometimes after the record ends, there will be a few seconds when the needle will not automatically lift, which may cause some scratches. Some scratches may also be caused by damage to the tonearm. This kind of scratch is basically invisible without light. If the scratches or dirt can be seen by the naked eye, you should pay attention to it. The dirt may be cleaned, but the scratches are permanent. 0 reply
