no permit needed for the through hike! it’s a committing day but not as bad as it sounds

I would camp there too, I just haven’t gotten a permit any year that I’ve tried

as a lifetime Washingtonian it is one of my deepest embarrassments that I haven't hiked the Enchantments yet

lots of camping around the lakes below, but I need to get off my ass and get a permit soon

it's awesome! if you haven't been before there's a 2 week stretch in late September (sometimes October) where the larches are pure gold and ground cover bright red

only 4.5k feet of gain, but 2.5k of it is in one mile! once you're at the top of the pass though it's all a gradual downhill for the rest of the 13 miles
