In addition to my daily WIP generative art contest, I'm inviting genart collectors and enthusiasts to join today. Share why you admire a specific piece of generative art (in any way you want). I'll share a total of 10k $DEGEN via @paybot among top entries. Deadline: 21:00 CET tonight. Excited to see your picks! 👇

I begin this ode to generative art by talking about @mountvitruvius.eth's Renders Game. I really love the variety of this collection, the freedom given to the algorithm, the clever mix between organic and mathematical elements... Here's Renders Game #5, a piece I have the honor of owning:

A piece I find myself coming back to time and time again in my collection is @mwiederrecht’s “Solitude #85”, mostly for the feelings of serenity and peace that it brings me. It’s one of those pieces you can daydream about. 😊

"The place where we were" by @vicdoval The title is powerful, it immediately brings up many memories In the recesses of my mind. The blurred animated contours, halfway between technical and dreams, are like an echo of ancient memories, long forgotten. For me, it was the first project evoking deep emotions 🖤👏

Lots to choose from but I would like to highlight They are coming ix - home (Solaris) by @pointline I have long loved her ability to tease out organic imagery from her code. With this piece it is at once desolate and warm (especially w/ the choice of color). A foreign planet barren but still welcoming to its own kind.

The Piter Pasma Vareniyam series is wild. I don't understand exactly how it's being generated, but it just works, even when some of the geometry (I guess it's geometry?) is close to the canvas/camera. Nice and surprising color palettes, tons of user interactivity. https://highlight.xyz/mint/65f76b195761a8648bcd146d

I wanted to @highlight(😜) a beautiful collection that got my eye last week. It's @loackme "a Sunday in the Park" I love that he decided to use photographs and gps data as the foundation for the collection. Love the style and how it's a shorter form collection. https://highlight.xyz/mint/65fb49e5c4f36cb5cf430882

Love the idea of a living, breathing piece. Art as process and a mutable form, endless and free. Pieces that become participatory with collector, informed by meta-data, minted live, that's the frontier. https://artblocks.io/collections/curated/projects/0xa7d8d9ef8d8ce8992df33d8b8cf4aebabd5bd270/233

i have a belief in animism that extends into the digital realm so in gen art i tend 2 like projects that make me believe that a spirit or soul could inhabit the piece i'm collecting / looking at i like @ranggapuraji 's murked being 4 that reason https://www.fxhash.xyz/gentk/KT1U6EHmNxJTkvaWJ4ThczG4FSDaHC21ssvi-617326

https://www.fxhash.xyz/gentk/KT1U6EHmNxJTkvaWJ4ThczG4FSDaHC21ssvi-670772 I love Rami Awad's piece Basil because it is both a beautiful work of visual art and also a generative musical system. The design is clever and very satisfying for me.

One of my favorite pieces in my collection is Toccata by Andreas Rau and Marcelo Soria-Rodríguez. It's a piece about music, time, decay, cycles, death, change, and it proves that generative art is a powerful way of expressing how we feel about it

Panta Rei #187 by Koboljka Minted September 23, 2022 on @fxhash If you ever wondered how far can you go just by stacking circles, Koboljka has the answer ready. His use of parallax and color is amazing and the whole collection is a true gem.

My favorite collection to this day is Catharsis by @dariolanza. Below is my mint. It's still the only NFT I have printed and hung up in my house. Dario's ability to create such an organic feeling with code still leaves me in awe. I am always excited to talk about it whenever guests inquire.

My fav is @mwiederrecht's Crypto-native. As a generative artist, I've asked myself these questions many times, and am struggling with some of them every day. This piece is mine but who made it? Melissa? The code? Or did I, when I minted it?

Nate Nolting Late Night Sketches #205 Part graffiti, part doodle, part gen. It’s a combination that could be a mess if not curated properly and you can see Nate chose very specific assets to make the whole.

I think I stumbled upon and started following Agoston Nagy's @stc work with the serie "k3rnel" on fxhash in Sept. 2022. This project of random "sound architecture" particularly struck a chord with me. k3rnel #200 https://chk.me/aGshWCE Future Jazz Geometry: https://www.fxhash.xyz/article/future-jazz-geometry
