Cameron’s Hard Won Rules for Travel 1. Pee when you can, eat when you can, sleep when you can 2. Never test a new routine on a travel day (ESPECIALLY w food, supplements, or caffeine) 3. You should be buffer maxing. Arrive early, assume longer distance, bring more supplies, etc. 15% overage is my sweet spot.

Quality of Life Addendum: 1. It’s counterintuitive, but I rarely regret prioritizing the “touristy” spots on my first visit to somewhere. Otherwise you’re sentencing yourself to a life of “no haha we didn’t get a chance to do X” anytime anyone back home ever asks about your trip for forever. Second visits/back half of the trip are for living like a local/hidden gems. 2. If possible, watch another tourist nearby interact with locals in any new area you visit before you do, esp if it’s a touristy area. It will help you spot scams from afar. Also no phones on the table. 3. Try to identify an inoffensive and ubiquitous regional food (like chocolate croissants in Europe) on your first day anywhere new. That way when you/your group is exhausted, hungry, and pissed off you have an easy food option available to fall back on.
