its not that unreasonable to not build out recommendations for a small constantly shifting network. a lot of systems would have been promoting spam due to engagement

The way I know that my feed is broken is that I have no idea what you are talking about.

If Warpcast was like X, I'd leave. If I'm following someone, and my feed gets filled up with their casts that feel more like Instagram or X, then I unfollow. I joined in late summer and have felt totally welcomed this whole time, but I'm also having a ton of fun with the constant innovation, which isn't at all like X!

I have mixed feelings being outside the treadmill of gaining followers and badges.

it's unfortunate that everyone is conditioned for follower numbers. i think with the current social landscape, that metric is totally useless at best and misleading at worst

i don't think i'm on the auto-follow list and i still get tons of what appears to be non-human followers which renders the number pointless to me

I agree in spirit but not in tactics

The prob isn’t a lack of discovering new people imo - it’s more about the reality of follow behavior

Autofollows created diff castes (lol) of people with inflated follow counts (includes both of us) and there’s no way to replicate that number go up “success” organically

i would tell these people that discoverability, not auto follow, is the problem

idk mia, but her memes seem funny and there's prob a reason it was posted on X instead of here.

That said, I generally think this misses the mark in terms of where the conditions for growth came from in the first place and is fairly unhelpful w its proposed solutions.

I am genuinely marveling at how good people are at figuring out what resource or benefits they lack relative to other people in the same group

It’s a wild evolutionary trait that bends the arc of history towards fairness

ok, but if you blame people‘s reaction and not how the system works, you‘re victimizing yourself

earnest question - if you disagree so hard with how they’re running the app why have you stuck around for a year and a half?

will never have any kind of badge and ive had this opinion for over a year now. 

they're obviously playing favorites internally and probably only a matter of time before something changes or people will just leave this boy infested app all together. 

it's truly sad what's happened in the past year and a half.

The fucked up part @cameron, is that if someone new had created this thread it would be memory holed.
