the interesting/kinda sad/kinda beautiful thing is, the way of thinking that got a person to basecamp in the first place, was usually some kind of useful insight that got them past some previous threshold. every cope is or was once load-bearing

Meryl Streep is an interesting example of an actor who has crossed thresholds that are inscrutable to others (which imo explains why there aren’t many more Meryl Streeps- copying her outwardly won’t get you there).
