I was reading WiEN often and some of the things I worked on also got featured there. I can't speak to EF decisions but one thing is for sure. It's hard to find a sustainable business model in this space. What's worse, scams and memes seem to make millions。

There was a concern in the lead up to EIP-1559 going live that miners would veto the upgrade as it was going to be a "pay cut" for them. Reality: miners didn't control Ethereum (as expected) & EIP-1559 went live on August 5th, 2021 & has since burned billions of dollars of ETH.
