Major banks in the Philippines are collaborating to issue the stablecoin PHPX, backed by the peso. PHPX is developed by Singaporean startup Just Finance and is expected to launch between May and July 2025 on the Hedera blockchain. PHPX aims to optimize international remittances, helping foreign workers quickly transfer money back home. PHPX will link with a multi-currency stablecoin exchange, supporting swaps with USD, SGD and JPY, expanding applications in retail payments and point-of-sale transactions.

US prosecutors estimate that there are more than 1 million victims involved in Do Kwon's criminal case. Kwon was charged with nine counts, including securities fraud, money laundering and wire fraud. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of 130 years in prison. Kwon pleaded not guilty at his initial hearing in New York, and his next trial is scheduled for January 8, 2025.
