Have been working for around 6 years now , mostly with early stage startups (seed to series C) I have observed rampant favouritism ,sycophancy and politics at play Is there any way to avoid it ? Even in early stage companies , once the number of employees reach the higher side these things start to happen 1/n

What is the way out ? At this point one thing is sure that people won’t stop doing this I just want to make good products and solve problems , why do people have to add sycophancy and politics into this ? And no changing jobs is not the way Have done that already 2/n

Build the company as a family. Vet every entry and make sure they are a best fit; avoid people with attitude/personality problems (easy to say, hard in practice because these attributes are hidden by the individual but you can catch them by asking certain questions that shows who they are).
