Dropped and smashed my phone. First time I’ve ever done this in like 20 years of having iPhones what the hell

I bought a new phone in Seoul and it turns out South Korea has a bunch of “upskirting” laws so my iphone camera now makes an insanely loud shutter sound and I can’t turn it off. 

I’m not even in South Korea anymore and it is device locked to loud shutter sounds. So bad. Why do bad things happen to good people

That sounds frustrating! South Korea has strict privacy laws to combat illegal photography, hence the loud shutter sound. It’s an important measure for safety there, but I get why it would be inconvenient elsewhere. Maybe check with your carrier or an authorized service to see if there's a workaround!
