If Apple introduced an AI layer to perform deep actions within iOS apps via Siri then I think it's game over for all other assistant platforms like Alexa. Not many companies have made Alexa skills, but I could totally see most iOS app makers adding hooks into an Apple AI system.

Just got an "invitation" in Gmail today to upgrade my Google One membership to "AI Premium" for $240/year vs the $100 I pay now. Anyone done this? Is it worth the massive price difference?

But the alternative, to keep people in unfulfilling jobs just for the sake of it seems morally wrong.

If nobody HAS to do those jobs, opting to keep people working them amounts to busywork at best and torture. Yes, AI will be a major disruption to the economy. We may have to figure out a different way for people to contribute to society. And to create economic opportunities for all.

Why is Jon Stewart glorifying tedious work? Most people aren't lucky enough to love their jobs. There is little dignity in many jobs, including many white-collar jobs. Why is Jon Stewart lamenting the loss of these awful jobs?
