I’m a big fan of David Lynch - not just of Twin Peaks and his films, but also of his devotion to a life of art and following his creativity. After reading his books and watching interviews, it’s clear that the way he manages to do that is by a deep commitment to dreaming and the realm of ideas. One of the main ways to catch ideas is - you guessed it! - to slow down. How could we possibly notice them if we’re rushing through life? But slowing down is still largely a practice and a privilege. It gets me thinking, what are intentional ways to carve out time and get dreamy? For me, creating little prompts/challenges work as helpful reminders to break the flow of routine and invite dreaming. For example, lately I’ve been trying to take at least one photo or short video of something unexpected that catches my eye as I go about my day. Any other ideas? I’d love to add more tools to my dream kit ☁️

And if you have the money, pay for services. I used to mow my lawn until I realized a service can do in 20 minutes what takes me 3 hours. That's 3 hours at least every 2 weeks that I save and it costs me $110/month. If I were to lose my time (have less money and more time) I'd go back to mowning it myself, tho

Paying for services can have a tremendous impact on time management and liberating head space! It's what I mean with privilege - the more you can afford to delegate chores, the more you can invest in time to dream and feed into passion projections, leisure, etc. It becomes a virtuous cycle that nourishes the dreaming. Not being to able to afford to do that and having to do everything yourself has the opposite effect - it depletes energy and takes away dreaming time. Who has the energy or even care to dream after a day packed with work, chores, commuting, keeping friendships alive, staying on top of the news and state of the world and, and, and, and?

Yes! I really take issue with those memes saying "Beyonce has the same 24 hours you do" — lots of details left out there
