Writers and editors don't typically make the default lists of who's considered to be "builders" so I'm really honored to be on this list. Especially when the nomination is coming from you!!

Expanding on this: initiatives that recognize "builders" can make a big difference for writers + editors by taking care in advance to make it clear that we're on the list of roles who can qualify as builders.

It lets writers/editors know our contributions are seen as valuable, rather than treated as an afterthought.

I’d also add that considering writers and editors from the start show a deeper care when it comes to telling the story of what’s being built but also ensuring a diversity of voices and minds in the build process. If there are only devs and engineers, there’s a chance the vision will be limited.
