One of the major questions of our time: why do so many people choose to do jobs that they clearly don't enjoy? I'm not talking abt circumstances where they don't have a choice. I mean otherwise affluent people w no meaningful risk of losing food or shelter who show up everyday to do something they hate. What's up?

Can you give more context? Define affluent? Feel like many who do in our community are either working for health care or benefits - retirement etc. One reason I’ve been pro universal or single payer is I think it would open more folks up to more diverse employment options through their career… though I don’t have any data this is the case in other countries.
