Tried to onboard people to crypto / Base / ETH over the weekend at a wedding with different levels of success. 

Will dive deeper into the results but there was one overwhelming theme. 

“Isn’t that all a scam” 

How do we fix this overall sentiment towards crypto?

I think it greatly depends on where your audience is coming from… yet when I’m talking about a future of crypto I typically bring up transactions fees for merchants (especially small businesses) as a use case, as it’s also a lever I’m familiar with.

If current interchange fees are ~2.9% plus a per transaction fee, I run numbers.

Say if crypto can even reduce this to 1.9 % then that’s 1% more in the business owners bottom line.

One might argue a 2.9 % transaction fee is a scam.

Don’t even start on the Apple fees on the iPhone for apps etc.

I also don’t dismiss the fact that there have been plenty of scams in crypto as it has developed, definitely the case.
