Why does crypto not have more consumer apps? Because it currently does not solve many problems for consumers. Crypto has strong consumer product-market fit with speculative use cases. This is because it’s a) potential to make money quickly b) entertainment. The way to grow the number of consumers in crypto is increase the amount of entertainment in crypto apps. Consumers have unlimited demand for novel entertainment.

When I hear this take, I often wonder what are the web2 social apps which are so popular? Beyond socials > Snapchat, TikTok, instagram/Facebook, X Streaming Music/Video > YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music. Gaming for sure… after that what? Especially for apps which become daily or weekly, embedded into our lives. Sometimes I think the table is already quite full. Still think gaming has most short term potential globally.
