I cannot get over the fact that people in America will pay $15 for Kerrygold butter. 

Is American butter really that bad? We’re blessed in Ireland that normal butter is such high quality, Kerrygold isn’t even the best stuff.

We are kerrygold shoppers - there are a few others that are comparable, yet its been consistently the best quality for the price.  Organic Valley sells a pastured butter in 8oz blocks that is good, yet here abouts is hard to track down on the regular.

I just looked last time I bought kerrygold it was $4.79 USD for 8oz.

My rule of thumb beyond color and flavor, is how easy is the butter to spread when its chilled.  Higher fat butter will be more easy to spread; so you can typically suss the fat content by the spreadability.

Big fan of high quality fats in our family, and we consume a lot of butter.
