I have no understanding of NYC politics or the Adams corruption allegations 

That said, crazy gambit by Adams to leverage Trump’s biggest talking point (immigration) against his own party in an election year

Separately, not a good sign for empire when intra-party PvP mode begins

I have zero insight on NYC.

Yet the costs of providing services for the recent immigrants are quite real.

Here in Mass ~$1B+ for shelter costs anticipated this fiscal year (July-June)

With overall state budget of $57.78B.

So ~1.7 % of the state budget for a small percentage of our population.  Only reason it’s not a more widely discussed issue here (beyond the right leaning herald etc) is that state revenues were strong off of cap gains taxes in ‘23 (my opinion).
