the last 3 years have been very challenging for me socially because of how polarized crypto and ai has become it means my leftist friends might just cut me out of their life bc I no longer agree on every single issue

Where are the people who can disagree on a bunch of stuff, but still respect and love each other? 100% alignment isn't required in a true friendship, and can even be unhealthy at times. Prove me wrong and and I respect you all the more.

I could not agree more. I've felt crypto in particular has been bad with this for the last few years the worst part is I don't even think many people actually have absolute feelings one way or the other on some of these issues. they just fall in line with the party politics of their social circle for fear of being ostracized and in turn ostracize others in 2020 I had long time friends of mine completely cut off contact when I voted for Trump. people who knew me for years made the leap from who I voted for to "therefore X, Y, Z must also be true about him" even though they knew my true character it's sad, I hope we get back to a place where we can have civil discussion without completely dismissing other people's ideas

I watched drag race and I am staking a bunch of stuff. I found the best label I can assign myself in this world obsessed with them is that of a humanist. Which in my view is neither left nor right but more concerned with how do we facilitate human flourishing. In my experience that is often thoroughly lacking in conversations in crypto where many are obsessed with means toward ends they don't pondered too deeply outside of number go up ๐Ÿ˜…

Hi hello! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป Your people (or at least I) have arrived! I've also found that @boysclub and Des Femmes both have communities with this kind of diversity. The Stellar community might also be a good place to step into! CRADL was also doing some work at these types of intersections, but I believe they're on a hiatus of sorts. https://www.cradl.org/

we've lost the ability to hold nuance - most see things in black and white, in opposites, in this or that style thinking and very rarely see things as a spectrum or as simply morally neutral
