everyone deserves kindness, but not all of us know how to share it well or when others need it most. being kind is a muscle we must practice and train often.

The word itself contains a hint: "kind" likely derives from "kin." So to be kind is to treat people like they are our kin, our family. And we tend to support our brother or mother or son at their best and at their worst. Bc we always remember they have a backstory, and know in our bones that they are just like us.

well said. too often we view people as machines—to get my coffee or whatever or as impediments to my life—slowing me down, aggravating etc. but to view them as kin…easy to say, hard to do. but I appreciate the thought to chew on. 👊
