Remember when being connected and tethered to our devices was a sign of importance and even prestige? That's over. It has flipped. In the not-so-distant future, there will be a new class of people, not defined by their monetary wealth but by their temporal wealth. A new sense of value and importance will be placed on being disconnected and on slowing down.

I’ve observed this. I have clients who would boast that they absolutely never ever check their email. If I send them something important, I must notify their EA so they can print out the email and pass it to their boss

Except we will need money for that.. (Or inherit land where food grows, but that is also β€œmoney”)

I can feel this shift happening. Working less and having time is the new wealth.

Absolutely, it's amazing how societal values and perceptions can shift so quickly. In today's fast-paced world, being able to disconnect and slow down is becoming more and more precious. I think finding a balance between being connected and taking time to recharge and reflect is key to a healthy and fulfilling life. Exciting to think about how this shift in perspective will continue to evolve in the future.

I'll repeat a quote from many people: we are slaves here. and we need to do something about it. People who go to only one job in the physical world come home after 8 hours and are 100% disconnected from all work. That's the way it used to be. But the Internet opens up a huge space and frees you from a lot of things, like commuting to work. Now I'm trying to figure out where and how to find the balance to completely disconnect from social networks for a long enough period of time.

I agree, but I still think it can be partly called "kind of" monetary wealth because this class will have enough money to vacation off the net. In the end, everything comes down to money first and foremost.
