But increasingly feel like there's no room for heroes to exist in our modern world. Wondering how others relate to this, and who they look to outside of family/friends.

My hero is my father. He teach me everything from my childhood with love which is rare for everyone specially insider family. But of i look for guidance perspective its will based on religious and cultural aspects - He is prophet Muhammad (peace be upon you). I think each person have different kinds of view on it. So it might not match with other’s.
