History and Origin:
Purple has been a symbol of royalty, wealth, and power for centuries. It dates back to ancient times when Tyrian purple, a dye extracted from sea snails, was so expensive that only the elite could afford it. The name comes from the Latin word purpura.

Where It’s Found:
Purple graces the world in stunning lavender fields, the iridescent plumage of birds like the Violet-backed Starling, and the majestic petals of orchids and violets.

Colors Combined:
Purple is created by blending red and blue. The shade can be adjusted by altering the ratio of the two colors.
