Frames is an example of work pioneered on Farcaster that is still rippling through other (non-web3) social ecosystems.

It would be amazing if Farcaster adopted the open variant of Frames so Open Frames could be used across many protocols.

I believe we need to encrypt all data, including at rest. Tailscale’s approach is to build new, encrypted pipes.

Other things to look at is Tailscale, who literally state they are building a new Internet, through their encrypted overlay networks

A return to hardware / bare metal. Heterogenous compute. 

It’s not quite optical networking but definitely a bunch of changes.

Because on-chain doesn’t make sense for messaging. It also doesn’t improve onboarding — you still have to bring someone into an on chain app to use XMTP. 

It’s either high value comms — competition is acutely secure like Signal. 

Or it’s low value, where protocol overhead doesn’t make sense.
