I’m trying to convince Taddy, which is doing like podcasting for webcomics using an RSS expansion, to support Frames https://taddy.org/

To me, this is the rise of “Networked Orgs”. And there is more than just product skillsets and tools needed. I wrote about Networked Orgs and Tooling back in 2022, as part of engaging with the Protocol Labs Network https://bmannconsulting.com/blog/2022/01/15/networked-orgs-and-tooling/

an idea came to mind when i was at the coffee shop trying to stay off the laptop, and inevitably ended up writing this blog post lol "Crypto Super App" explores why everyone wants one but nobody has really built one https://paragraph.xyz/@dylsteck.eth/crypto-super-app https://warpcast.com/paragraph/0xd1195e34

Frames fills _some_ of the needs of a super app. The practicalities of (mobile) app building and per-data-type UX I think still drives towards separate apps. So my hypothesis is Proto Apps https://bmannconsulting.com/notes/proto-apps/

I know it can I just wondered if much had happened with it. Sounds like nope ;) I’ll also look at specs in more detail today.

@owl I don’t know enough about schemas on FC. Possible to have custom data? eG a “job” type?

We may as well double down and make it work for early users in any case. Job board would also make for very excellent frame interactions.

Anyone working on e2ee should be aware of the effort to try and paint Signal in a bad light / promote Telegram. If you care about privacy, don’t use Telegram. Protocols over platforms. https://x.com/matthew_d_green/status/1789687898863792453

The only reason we stare into the rectangle is to catch a glimpse of the humans trapped inside it. Technology, communications, messaging is only in service of increasing the number of hugs 🫂

Yes. So the answer is: build more good angels. Write cheques and make referrals. I have a hypothesis about rebooting angels by getting young founders started early: what if you put $1000 into your buddy’s company? Learn by doing.

What do you think the problems are? I’ve met a bunch of young builders in Vancouver and I’m more hopeful than ever about the energy. Everything else is just people giving a shit and getting shit done.

And I guess for context: “cons” initially went back and forth between Europe and North America. Involves plane travel and higher expense. “Camps” are regional and are an on-ramp for new users / new devs. Lower cost. Both with specific side events for community work on protocol hacking by experts to go deep.

We grew the Drupal community year over year from 40 people -> 200 -> 500 -> 1500 Above 300-500 you start needing long lead times to get venue and hotel availability. Bursaries, paying speakers, sponsor representation, “no shilling” and other norms need to be set.

When I grew the Drupal Community— we had global “cons” and then evolved highly regional “camps”. Large “cons” keep growing and eventually need 12-18 months lead time. “Camps” can be done with 3 months lead time. Figure out the Far-taxonomy and work together. Set norms soon!

I’m just embarking on this with Causal Islands. Thinking about local hosts and what shared resources are valuable. And we’re going to need a real world structure so looking at different types of co-ops. Attendee / sponsor / speaker owned conferences — yay!
