One of the biggest censorship vectors for blockchain protocols is RPC / lack of light clients. 

This is solved by more P2P-ish data transfer (eg IPFS, Farcaster Hubs, ATProtocol PDS), but this is also a UX barrier: running servers on phones, at home, etc is hard and potentially pricey.

I’m mentioning the IPFS bit not to say it is worse than anything else, I just know more about the inner plumbing. 

An RPC end point can (will?) log everything you ask for on it!

IPFS has the issue of being terrible at privacy by leaking your IP address by default, so need to add a layer like Tor or Nym.

Arweave is more directly comparable to Filecoin (blockchain consensus + data storage).

It’s worse — you can’t use it offline or local only, only used through gateways. 

IPFS big strength is that it’s a self verifying data structure that can be run locally, passed around offline, and layered over other transports.

Where arweave stands in this in your opinion?
