As I grow older, I realize how much my youth shaped my worldview and how it is increasingly becoming difficult to change or form anew 

I find myself fused (often irrationally) to them in different ways, esp when it comes to ideas / rituals that are close to who I am

I am surprised to find myself not disliking that

Love this whole thread. I’ve got kids getting older and Independant and have lost both parents recently and find myself observing and enjoying all the little things in life far more than I used to. There is a nice balance.
