What are we doing wrong?

how do you define interesting content?

something worthy of a like? recast?

something that onboard a new user?

Don't forget that interesting content is subjective.

what for me may be interesting for you boring. and vice versa.

One or two people should not be deciding what is interesting for everyone else on the network.

The algo should optimize for delivering people more posts like things they have engaged with before and let each individual decide what is interesting for themselves.

A large percentage of the time what is interesting is not just what the influencers post, but smaller users with shared interests who are more likely to engage if they can just be connected with others posting things -they- are interested in.

If you want to grow the network, encourage those shared interest connections over broadcasting and promoting the posts of popular people.
