Gophers are a genus of rodents of the squirrel family. They live in open habitats, such as meadows, steppes and semi-deserts, feed on low plants and use burrows as nests and shelters. They lead a diurnal lifestyle and mostly live in colonies, although some species can be found singly. They hibernate in winter, and in arid regions they can hibernate during the summer or autumn months. The range of various species is mostly divided, although there are regions inhabited by three species. Where the ranges of two species of gophers touch, they can form mixed colonies or hybridize. They have a yellow, light orange, light brown or grayish color. All of them have a fairly short tail, which, depending on the specific species, is about 10-45% of the length of the head and body. Gophers can be carriers of fleas that transmit diseases to people, and also build tunnels under a human dwelling, which can lead to its destruction. 0 reply

Geese are distinguished by their beak, which at the base is greater in height than in width, and ends in a nail with a sharp edge. There are small teeth along the edges of the beak. Geese are distinguished by a neck of medium length (longer than that of ducks, but shorter than that of swans), rather high legs, growing closer to the middle of the body than in ducks, and a hard hump, or spur, on the bend of the wing.
Feathers and down are highly developed. Males practically do not differ from females - the differences consist only in a bony outgrowth ("hump") at the beginning of the beak at the nose of the male, as well as in a slightly larger body size.
Many geese cackle or make mumbling sounds, and hiss when they are in danger or when irritated. 0 reply
