Curious to know: What was everyones experience like onboarding to Warpcast, and what are some things you wish you had more information on during the process? Additionally, what do you think would be helpful for those joining now?

It was initially pretty difficult to buy warps for an account but since it seems much easier. Anything that can be done to give more visibility to new good accounts will be beneficial to the platform. Maybe have them pass a very difficult captcha or something to prove they aren’t bots and boost them a bit.

Perhaps suggesting popular channels for user to select (say, at least 3 out of 10 suggested) would be a nice touch.

Opt into auto follow list. Eg “do you want us to populate your feed or choose topics that you’d like to explore further?” Topics would suggest who are the leading opinion leaders there Then preview feed before cementing your choice and creating account

@dwr.eth just setting up a new brand account right now, I'm stuck in the checkout page - I don't have a payment option on my account (I do with my main phone). I would prefer if you can send a Coinbase link to the same e-mail I registered the account with and I'll just pay with my other phone. Completely blocked atm.

@sherlock-bones recently onboarded. the technical explanation for the waiting period were not meaningful to him ('deploying contract', etc.). even if he understood what those meant, it still wouldn't have been really *meaningful*.

Some things that helped me onboard and stick with farcaster early on - having two friends @kyle @vm - casting regularly for a period of time - getting replies and finding conversations on the things i cared about - discovering and using tools in the ecosystem including nftd, searchcaster, perl v1, unlonely

wish I could see the feed before signing up to get a taste for the content. having to pay before I can even view the feed is a deterrent. if I came in cold, with no knowledge about the platform at all, I'd prob not sign up.

well I twitter DM'ed the founder of the company with my email address and then I got a link to install the app but I don't think onboarding works like that anymore. feel like I should make a new account just to see what it looks like now.
