I still think JavaScript is an abomination.

Agreed, and much harder to work with on larger codebases with large sets of dependencies that may or may not be typescript.

Definitely prettier, and I like strong types, but there is a hefty cost.

yea but you can also just brute force yolo: any all the way or ignoreTypescriptBuildErrors: true as u need 😂💀
