Is it possible for social media to solve boredom without rotting our brains?

What causes boredom for the average Person is probably being idle or a lack of interest in what dey are doing, probably it's not stimulating enough even if it's work. 

The remedy for that(instant  gratification) has  to be something so inane and nonsensical that it's on the other end of the spectrum. 

Which of course comes at a cost because while it provides a temporary fix, it impairs ability to focus, and sustain interest in meaningful activities like work.
