We’re planning to launch a new, optional “Pro” protocol subscription

1. At launch, subscribers will have a Pro badge on their profile

2. Subscription will be onchain and part of the protocol. 100% of the proceeds go to casters / developers in weekly rewards. This in addition to the existing $25K+ a week in rewards. 

3. Planning to add longer casts (10K characters) and up to 4 images per cast for pro subscribers (needs a protocol change). Additional features over time.

Why are we doing this?

- The protocol needs to find long-term revenue source that can continue fund caster and developer rewards beyond any one company.  
- We originally thought storage fees could be that, but we’ve realized that storage fees should be essentialy free to help growth. 
- So we’re trying an opt-in pro subscription as another model

Why now?

- Figuring out a long-term revenue model that works will allow us to double down on investing in growth

Ok great idea bear with me 

What if we could direct our fees to “sponsor” a channel of our choosing 

And each “sponsored” channel has a leaderboard (like the general one there is now), but with specific qualifications for that leaderboard - for example, to climb the /replyguys leaderboard, replies are very heavily weighted 

And every Tuesday those leaderboards pay out just like our generic one, but based strictly off of how many people sponsor and how much 

It still returns all fees to the community but gives us ownership of where that goes and who we want to support

Nice play. I've spent the last years trying to climb the hierarchy but now that i've seen what's on top maybe i'm just happy having the freedom of the lower share instead of the prestige of the top part. 

It's a matter of knowing what's the most important for you and i've just realized freedom is what i want.

the majority of humanity's existence has been filled with strife, trauma, carnage, horror, disease and impoverishment so we obviously have it inside us to always be grinding. I agree with you but most people on this planet wake and go to sleep completely broke and stressed out about it.

And for the majority of human’s existence our life expectancy was like 30-40 years due to this

Been saying this for years. 

I see people “bragging” online about working 60-80 hours a week and I can’t help but laugh. 

If I can never work again and live even the same middle-class life I have no, I’d take that over working hard and trying to “level up” at all.

I’ve been approached to be an administrator quite a few times at schools, or teach AP classes, or dual enrollment classes, or coach, or do anything else for extra money stipends

My answer is always the same

I’m happy where I’m at thank you, I do not want to rise up the ranks, I want to be a cog in the machine
