It all starts with a voice. And after hearing the emotive, gritty and always soulful sound of singer-songwriter GoldFord, it is clear that a voice like this is rare. GoldFord’s debut album “Shed a Little Light,” written and performed by Chicago-based solo artist Jeffrey Goldford, showcases his unique signature of “rock n’ soul,” blended with layers of Americana folk and elements of country rhythms. His vocal style emulates Joe Cocker, his arrangements bring out a dose of funk, tied together with a storytelling touch reminiscent of Amos Lee.
