Longtime caster but new to /degen & $DEGEN My first impression is that tipping is sorta like a *community-led* way to introduce a new primitive besides “liking” a cast? Permissionless protocol => anyone can create their own metric (KPI) for user/post quality Is that a fair characterization?

That's totally a fair take. I've always wanted to evolve past the standard 'like' button. Sometimes I really like content and want to give it a 'super like' or a '5x like', and sometimes I just sort of like a post and want to give it a regular like. Degen Tips allows you to scale your liking for a cast.

I like this take besides that it's an experimental distribution mechanism for $degen's second phase and so once that phase concludes, tipping will likely re-manifest through frames and continue on, albeit less intrusively and more thoughtfully
