imho happiness can not be isolated from the future like “appreciate what you possess”. It’s more like fully loving it and realizing in present you are on the right track moving into the future. I would even resume that happiness is in movement itself

Being constantly focused on the future is not good
Always focused on tomorrow that they're never present here
