I skipped early morning football to catch up on sleep, and now that I’m up, it’s time to tidy the whole house. I’ll probably work on my Packet Tracer networking assignment throughout the day. How about you—what are your plans for today?

Today wasn’t the best day, but I still managed to be productive. I learned a lot about IP addresses and MAC addresses. How about you? What did you learn or do today? GM

Always double-check websites and emails before interacting with them. For example, you might come across a random ad directing you to iinstagram.com instead of the legitimate instagram.com, or receive an email claiming to be from your bank, urging you to fix an issue with your account. These could be phishing attempts designed to steal your information. Stay vigilant, especially with lookalike domains and urgent-sounding messages.

🛑 Beware of Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) Attacks! 🔐 In cybersecurity, a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack happens when a hacker secretly intercepts communication between two parties—like you and a website—without either side knowing. The attacker can steal sensitive data, alter messages, or even impersonate a trusted source. How Does It Happen? 🚨 Unsecured Wi-Fi – Hackers use public Wi-Fi networks to eavesdrop on your data. 🚨 Spoofed Websites – Fake login pages trick you into entering your credentials. 🚨 Session Hijacking – Attackers steal your session cookies to gain access to accounts. How to Stay Safe: ✅ Use HTTPS Websites – Look for the 🔒 lock symbol in your browser. ✅ Avoid Public Wi-Fi – Or use a VPN for secure browsing. ✅ Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – Adds an extra layer of security. ✅ Keep Your Devices Updated Hackers are always looking for ways to steal data—stay alert, stay protected! 🛡️💻 /higher GM

Not all hackers are bad! The ones you should be most cautious of are black hat hackers. These cybercriminals infiltrate your devices to steal sensitive information for financial gain. Often, they hold victims for ransom—demanding money in exchange for not leaking or selling the stolen data. If the victim refuses to comply, the hacker may sell the information to competitors, causing significant damage to their reputation. Grey hat hackers operate in a legal gray area. They may breach your systems without permission, not for financial gain but simply to prove that they can. While they often alert you to vulnerabilities, their actions remain illegal. On the other hand, white hat hackers—also known as ethical hackers—are the good guys. They only hack with permission, usually as part of cybersecurity assessments. Companies and individuals hire them to test their security defenses, identify weaknesses, and recommend improvements to strengthen protection against cyber threats. /higher

This week, I plan to be highly productive in everything I do—learning and revisiting everything I explore in the cybersecurity world. To unwind, I’ll play football at the end of the week. Along the way, I’ll maintain a balanced routine by eating well and exercising to stay energized. /higher $higher
