if I could do it all again without the trial/error, could probably get it all done in about a day (I only had about 500Gb of photos/videos)

- google takeout of photos/albums (I ended up with nine 50Gb export zips)
- get those export zips onto the Synology
- install Immich via docker on synology
- use `immich-go` script to import the zip files directly (took about 6hrs)
- wait about 20hrs for Immich background processes to generate thumbs, transcode video, do face recognition/machine learning

desktop and mobile apps are great!

PS - I’m accessing everything thru a tailscale network (so the synology isn’t directly on the internet)
