Nuclear take: Account abstraction is fundamentally incompatible with how we are scaling ethereum and will be a meme until we all ossify on using a single rollup for everything

How does your take feel if we take it to the privacy extreme with stealth addresses, blind deposits, everything is intents, everything is counterfactual, etc? I suspect one incorrect mental model people have is that AA is 1:1 with EOAs "except better", but really we're going to have all kinds of mishmashes.

yeah i agree smart contract wallets simply do some things worse i would love it if we got stealth eth transfers and if everything was intents

I mean smart contract wallets are inevitable, they just won't look the way we expect (everyone expects Safe multisigs). I don't think there's anything they strictly do worse? The base case is they're a form of key management.

A hyper fragmented L2 future gets even more complex when you’re worrying about smart contract wallet deployments and versions on each little app chain. Just another layer of stuff that can go wrong I guess.

I do generally worry about a rapid trend towards hyper-complexity. We’re so focused on making it possible for normies to not have keys and not worry about gas, it’s going to become way less fast and fun to build. It’ll look like enterprise software.

I don't think we're headed to a future where each rollup has its own copy of everything. We have a path towards atomic cross rollup executions, we have a path towards intents ("I want X on rollup Y, don't care how it happens"), I think it'll be okay.
