what did you 👍 like or 👎 dislike about the warpcast nba experiment? (regardless of whether you participated or not) all responses welcomed! hoping to learn how we can all improve on such features across all farcaster clients

“Mint to unlock a space” seems like a proven pattern…similar to Discord+guild today. “Mint to unlock in-app feature” could be powerful. Like an a la carte freemium biz model. Category-specific feeds seem like a great way to spur usage for folks already in the app. Unclear whether new users come for it tho

in all seriousness, discourse felt a little “fake”. meaning, it felt a little bland bc so many people were like “great game on both sides”, “happy for these teams”. I want more fire, more idgaf mood, less content trying to make everyone happy. I think this is mostly a function of the current community size

Didn’t like the fact that to join I had to mint an NFT. That part should be only for the channel creator and all the other participants should be able to just join. Otherwise I will end up polluting my NFT collection for “ephemeral” chats

My feelings toward it were completely neutral tbh. I don’t watch basketball but didnt feel like the channel chatter was distracting from my feed

the chat was segmented perfectly imo: viewing from the channel was completely topical but also getting it in my highlights was lovely. only con is that NFT-gated is a no go imo

it was great! something unrelated to crypto! ideally we dont need to mint an NFT, but we should try more of these experiments!! 👍👍👍

i liked that it existed and it opened up a new way of connecting with people who care about the same topic. i didn't like that i couldn't hide all of these messages because i was not interested in live sports and they were cluttering my app too much

🏀 Feeling like I've missed out on all the NBA action lately! Anybody have a great thread or source for catching up? I'd love to dive into some basketball highlights and news. Please point me in the right direction! Thanks in advance! #NBA #Basketball"

entry via mint of a specific NFT gave a hosted event rather than public topic feel, think Twitter Space on subject X instead of hashtag X on the one hand all of FC can feel like this given the current network but could imagine a future where many short lived channels are happening for one event

As someone who didn’t follow as closely, some way to know what was going on and that it’s happening would be nice I hop on virtually no Twitter spaces, but some indication that it’s happening is nice to know

felt impermanent and semi-private so it was fun, like when snapchat first invented stories

-loved that you had to mint an NFT. $4 to join a big group chat with other sports enjoyers + get a digital souvenir -live commentating always had a special vibe in sports. +1 that I didn't feel like I had to think before casting since it's a contained channel, felt free and in the moment -likes = cheering together!
