this is different from the current way imo today most or nearly all 3p farcaster development is at the app level, or helping on hubs -- which is all about building farcaster's ecoystem to win in the new normal (post Threads) - i think the win must be to build more with other web3 ecosystems

Yup, if winning is defined by mainstream user adoption. Imo for this topic, when talking to folks outside of crypto, nobody actually cares if something is decentralized or not. They just care about what it allows them to do with their current or aspirational social graph.

What is "win"? Genuine question. Everyone knows the internet peaked before mass adoption. Web3 doesn't need the masses, it just needs ENOUGH people. Mass adoption will literally just make it web 2 because the exact same dance will play out. Unpopular opinion but web3 socials having numbers like Threads is NOT a win.

I think farcaster could benefit greatly from also sniping artists with features catered to them. Niches like nude artists (many in web3) would love this app b.c zero censorship, for example

I'm no tech wizard but for me decentralised is fab until we need digital ID/biometrics, which of itself is just about ok until 'they' link it to social score/Vax etc (which they will). If people refuse their slave system they will be denied internet access, phones etc. Is anyone addressing this?
