What bothers me most when talking to people who are unfamiliar with crypto is they only see the scammer/grifter side of the industry via news media Obvi there's a lot of fuckery afoot here, but there are also loads of people trying to create authentically - don't fade them

The example I always give is cash, which has been used for malicious activity since the beginning of its existence. It's not the tool, but the bad actors which change something from a useful tool to a negative product. The tool fundamentally doesn't change (cash is cash) so the issue is with the bad actor.

I'm kind of scared trying to talk about crypto with them . . . I think they either think I'm crazy or I'm a scammer. Just the other day at the grocery store, I met an expat and wanted to share WC w/ him, but I think he thinks I'm crazy. 🩷🫥
