You're right he's likely grifting crypto here for the simple reason that he won't release who he wants and will push for his Treasury Secretary.
A Treasury Secretary from crypto world with crypto background will mean the man's a legit crypto lover.
A Treasury Secretary of literally any other background will mean he's full of it. 
Understand that no Treasury Secretary can be both a USD bull and crypto bull at the same time. They run contrary to each other. If you are in favor of pro-crypto legislation you are not also in favor of a strong dollar. Be very very skeptical of anyone who claims to be both.
Also any Treasury Secretary who's supposedly pro-crypto will have a helluva time getting through the Senate Financial Committee unless they're fully known and trusted to be credible and trustworthy. Unfortunately these types of folks do not associate with Trump.
So it's a unicorn who would be Treasury Secretary for Trump.
Hence there's no way in hell he'll be pro-crypto as POTUS.
