Resilience. Resilience helps you withstand uncertainties & setbacks. Resilience requires emotional regulation. Resilience tests your adaptability. Resilience will demonstrate your strength to your team. It's a necessity for a strong founder.

Talk to your customers as soon as you have them; early on do things that don’t scale with them and try a lot of stuff. Later you figure out what works. Jobs to be done interviews for structuring push and pull forces that cause buying decisions

Doesn’t matter how stacked your team is, what investors you have, all these shiny things don’t guarantee a profitable product. Had to go through at least 9 startups to learn this 🤣

No matter how much the focus is intended to be on the customers - there are forces that pull founders away to do "business" things(admin, hiring, networking, internal process, media). Resisting the forces is tough and the only way might be a daily pie chart of percentage of time spent on customers. Embarrassingly low

One of the biggest pieces of wisdom I've learned is the importance of patience and perseverance. Often, the most rewarding outcomes require time and consistent effort, so it's crucial not to rush or give up too soon.

I spent many years building products / planning & ideating things it wasn't until i'd spend a day or two actually going into the market and getting deposits / sales for something that I ever really learned anything without testing the market, you're wasting your time

As a leader you can’t and won’t make everyone happy. Better to be swift and decisive and stand by your decisions barring you took the time to do the proper due diligence

As @metadavid said earlier Resilience. But I underestimated, how much. You would have read "eating glass...staring abyss..getting punched" and all. But when you're living it, you realize how much. Makes you stronger.

A few: 1. Ship it. The real learning starts then. 2. as long as you have another day, you’ve got another shot 3. Sales go up and down. Relationships last forever. 4. You can lose a lot and still win. But nervt lose your integrity

1. you're over thinking it (h/t @dwr.eth) 2. ship fast and iterate quickly 3. more contemporary wisdom, is that founders need to be public and essentially the lead advocate for their business. people want to know who they are supporting and building in public is becoming more important than ever.
